GRIPPER
In an industry first IC P have launched yet another safety innovation. The ICP mechanical prop removal service uses a purpose designed gripper to take down the heaviest of props without the need for extensive manual handling. The gripper is attached to a specially modified excavator and is designed, built and tested to AS4991. The unit has a working load limit of 150kg which is more than enough to safely handle even the largest props currently in use.
Instead of relying on riggers to manually drop the props which can cause damage to the props as well as putting strain on rigger's backs, ICP uses mechanical power to do the job. Our machine is fitted with rubber tracks so it can operate on concrete slabs without causing damage. Once the retaining anchors have been undone, the props are securely gripped in the unit's powerful jaws. The prop is then lifted clear of the panel and rotated to the horizontal position. It is then placed into a stillage, where the pin is removed and the prop closed up for transport.
Once the props have been removed and placed in stillages, ICP can return them to the place of hire or to your yard using our fully equiped crane truck. Next time your riggers complain about taking down props give us a call.
Our rates are very competitive!
